THE BLUE SHOW
Cojo's first one man painted-work-on-canvas-gallery-series.
"Cojo Original" paintings or commissioned portraits are very hard to attain and are prized status symbols among the rich and famous. He creates such few painted works a year, and the demand is so high that owning one privately is nearly impossible. He's done highly regarded portraits and commissions for such A-List clientele as: Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Redman, Cam'ron, Lil' Kim, Usher, Mario, Ashanti, and others.
THE BLUE SHOW was painted just before, during, and after 9/11/01 (at which time Cojo decided to stick to a dark blue and gray palate.) This show was painted before Cojo received mass critical acclaim with the LIFEbeat show, and before he had ever been printed in either Maxim, Vibe or Rolling Stone.
The show was only available to be seen for three days in a gallery setting, and has since been in storage. Cojo is very particular as to how many pieces of physical works on canvas he produces, and these pieces (being of the first series ever in his career) will, when taken in context of his entire body of work 30 years from now, will stand out as very important pieces in the Artist's Development.
These pieces will be considered very different from the works Cojo is producing currently. He no longer works in square format. He no longer works monochromatic. He no longer works in acrylic. He no longer works this small. Owning a piece from this series will no doubt be a strong investment in this artist, and in your own personal collection. After these sell out, there just won't be any more made like them.
Most of the previous patrons have purchased two or more, as they look fabulous hung on a wall in a series, as they were originally meant to be displayed.
